A conversation with Sister Janet

Sister Janet Bucher was born in Covington in 1940. After more than 60 years as a Catholic nun, teacher, and parish administrator, Sister Janet retired in 2025. Her career began as a teenager when she entered St. Anne Convent in Melbourne. From there, she held posts throughout the United States before returning home to Covington where she spent the final 34 years of her career as the parish administrator for Our Saviour Catholic Church.

Sister Janet wasn’t just a witness to history, she helped to make it. This program features journalist and historian Dr. David Rotenstein interviewing Sister Janet about her life followed by an illustrated slide show and a community conversation that will enable attendees to ask Sister Janet their own questions.
